In between mission, you're always given a choice of missions to accept, offering multiple paths to complete the game. In the game, you assume the role of a mercenary general and your mission is to stop a plot made by the Skaven, which are rat-like creatures. There was even a fantasy themed game in the series that was hyped to know end, but there was another medieval themed game in the series that just recently I have discovered. The Warhammer series is best know for its 40k series of RTS games. Difficult since the beginning = challenging RTS! At any rate, for what it's worth, the game delivers a good experience and will see your strategic muscles bend and twist. The top down perspective allows you to have enough of an insight into the battlefield, and will not feel stifling most of the times, though, certainly, you will make use of the minimap quite extensively.

You get to construct buildings, you get to order different types of units around, and, at a higher hierarchical level, you get to dictate what type of emergent strategy to use in whichever scenario you are pitting yourself against.

Mechanically, the game feels like a modern RTS. The game here will see you battling as a merc, trying to put an end to the domination and the conquest wants of the skaven, a rat like set of creatures which try to dominate the world. There are 2 different timelines in the universe: one that is set in the far away future and another one in a medieval like past. The Warhammer universe has spawned a myriad strategies, RPG games, action games as well as genuine tabletop games, and has had many confused in regards to the setting itself.
